BONLAB offers pre-analytical services such as blood collection, collection of feces, urine and biopts. We collect it at our home location or in Rincon, at your home, at FKPD, and in prison. These services include registration and verification, blood collection, sample collection, and result transport and entry. Below is a detailed description of Bonlab's pre-analytical process and requirements:

Registration at the Reception Desk: Upon arrival, clients must take a number from the ticket machine and wait in the designated area. When their number appears on the display board, they proceed to the corresponding reception desk and present:

  • Their identification (valid passport, sedula, or driver's license);

  • The form for blood collection or the urine or stool sample they have brought.

The form must include:

  • Patient information such as surname, first name, date of birth, address, and phone number;

  • Request details: desired test, requester, date, and any clinical information;

  • For urgent requests from general practitioners, contact Bonlab to speak with a specialist and indicate this on the request form.

After verification and processing, clients return to the waiting area until called by name to accompany a phlebotomist to a collection room.

Submitting Other Materials:

When submitting other materials, each container must be labeled with the client's name, date of birth, gender, and the collection date (and the source in some cases, e.g., left or right eye). Improperly identified materials cannot be processed.

Patient Preparation Instructions:

For certain tests, preparation is necessary, such as fasting before a blood test. Fasting means no food for 12 hours before the test, but clients may drink water and take medications as instructed by their doctor. Specific instructions might also be provided on the order form.

Urine Test – Single Portion:

Clients receive a special plastic container from BONLAB. A staff member provides clear instructions on collecting the urine sample, which can be done in the restroom at BONLAB. After collection, clients submit the container at the sample submission table.

Urine and Stool Tests – Home Collection:

For some tests, clients need to collect urine over a period of time or stool at home in a special container provided by BONLAB, which can be picked up from the reception desk. Clear instructions and/or a patient information sheet are provided. Once collected, clients submit the sample at the reception desk for verification.

Information for Requesters:

To ensure accurate results, samples must meet specific criteria:

  • Sufficient material;

  • Properly identified samples;

  • Correct container (jars/tubes, etc., see guidelines);

  • Avoid leaking or contaminated containers;

  • Sterile material older than 48 hours (for microbiological testing) is not accepted;

  • Samples without a request form cannot be processed.

Receiving Results:

Results are sent to the client’s doctor, who will interpret and discuss them with the client. If picking up results for someone else, a permission letter and ID from the individual are required. Remaining material may be anonymized and used for scientific purposes unless the client declines at the reception.

Reporting of Results:

Results are valid and guaranteed only when printed on BONLAB NV paper.
