At BONLAB, our vision is to be the primary gateway for laboratory care in Bonaire, offering a wide array of high-quality diagnostic and analytical services to both the public and businesses. We strive to enhance public health through comprehensive and innovative laboratory solutions while actively measuring the quality of the environment we live in, ensuring a high standard of living for our community.

By continuously assessing environmental quality alongside medical diagnostics, we aim to be the first choice for laboratory needs, fostering a healthier, well-informed population and promoting a high-quality living environment.
How It All Started
BONLAB has a long and rich history on Bonaire. The first laboratory on Bonaire was established on July 1st, 1969. Over these decades, the island laboratory has experienced numerous developments. BONLAB originated from the former Landslaboratorium, location Bonaire, and later became part of the Analytisch Diagnostisch Center (ADC). Initially, the lab was located within the hospital. When the hospital established its own lab, the Landslaboratorium moved to a different location, focusing on primary laboratory care while the hospital managed secondary care. In 2008, ADC Bonaire transitioned to what is now known as BONLAB. Traditionally, Bonlab has been responsible for the medical diagnostical tests, for the public health tests and justice-related laboratory tests, working closely with the Public Health Department of the OLB. Since 2001, BONLAB also operates a water laboratory. In 2022, BONLAB met the accreditation requirements for clinical chemistry and water laboratories, ensuring to maintain high standards.
Today, we are ready to embark on a new journey that expands our services and impact on Bonaire. As the primary gateway for laboratory care on the island, BONLAB offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and analytical services to both the public and businesses.
We continue to provide essential public health and justice-related tests, blood draw services, population health screenings, and water testing. Since 2024 BONLAB is transitioning to becoming an environmental and food safety lab broadening her Public Health tasks. Aiming at enhancing the Quality of the living environment on Bonaire.
With our friendly and professional team, state-of-the-art facilities, and a commitment to transparency and efficiency, BONLAB is dedicated to enhancing the health and quality of living of the Bonaire community and beyond.

Accreditation
Our vision is to uphold the highest standards in laboratory testing, ensuring that all our analyses meet accredited quality benchmarks. We are committed to achieving and maintaining accreditation for all our tests through recognized accreditation bodies.
BONLAB is accredited by the Raad voor Accreditatie (RVA) in accordance with ISO 15189 for clinical chemistry and hematology tests, as well as pre-analytical services at various locations. (Accreditation number: M322)
Additionally, our Water Lab holds accreditation under ISO 17025 by A2LA, reinforcing our commitment to reliable and precise environmental testing. (Accreditation numbers: 5782.01 (biological tests) and 5782.02 (chemical tests))
